Questions about official Monongalia County criminal records belong with the government office that keeps the document. In Morgantown, court records are held at the Justice Center, sheriff reports begin at the Walnut Street office, and regional-jail custody records are maintained by WVDCR outside the county. The contacts below route each request to its custodian.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use the office that holds the exact Monongalia County record needed:

  • Sheriff incident and arrest reports: Monongalia County Sheriff's Office, 116 Walnut Street, Morgantown, WV 26505; 304-291-7260. Confirm records-counter hours before visiting.
  • Regional-jail booking and custody records: North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, 1 Lois Lane, Greenwood, WV 26415; 304-873-1384.
  • Fingerprint-supported state history and record challenges: West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, Criminal Records Section; 304-746-2418. Authorized fingerprint appointments go through IdentoGO at 855-766-7746.
  • Police and incident reports: contact the local police department, campus police, Sheriff's Office, or State Police detachment whose officer created the report.

Court visitors should use the Justice Center at 75 High Street rather than the historic county courthouse at 243 High Street. The Circuit Clerk closes during the published lunch period. The Sheriff has not posted a detailed records-division fee schedule or counter schedule, so verify both before a trip.
